At first I was skeptical about life coaching,
but a trusted friend recommended Mynde to me and kept raving
for months about the progress and even subtle changes that
made her feel “a difference” in her life.
Mynde is an excellent listener, but also challenges you to
stretch out of your comfort zone and helps you get to the
core of what is clogging you up to set you free. The difference
between reading self-help books or even counseling and Fearless
Living Coaching with Mynde is that you don’t just read
or just talk through something. You have assignments, you
are actively participating in discovery about how you react
to triggers of fear and you learn to break the cycle of negative
behaviors to those triggers.
Trust is an important part of the journey, and I trusted
Mynde with good cause. She is a magnificent coach, guide and
mentor who you can tell secrets you are not even aware of
yet – she is respectful and holds your process in complete
confidence.
My twelve sessions took over 6 months to complete as I need
time to digest and work through the ideas. In that time and
in the following three months I have made tremendous strides
in what I call “breathing.” I was literally walking
around tight and not taking full breaths because I couldn’t
feel comfortable at my job. As a self-proclaimed workaholic
and binge eater I had my share of issues. My journey has opened
up new ways of thinking about myself, my work, my goals and
my attitudes.
Mynde helped me discover that my essential nature is courageousness
and the reason I feel like I’m holding my breath is
because I stifle my essential nature.
Major breakthroughs helped me be more courageous: I cut my
hair really short for the first time in my life, I now leave
my computer at work nights and weekends, not worrying about
work that will be there when I return the next day, I ran
two triathlons – and was proud of myself for finishing
strong.
It took us several sessions, but one of my goals was to discover
the actual problem that was causing the symptom of binge eating.
It is fear, of course. Mynde helped with setting my expectations,
keeping me patient, finding connections from earlier discoveries
– she is the constant on the journey, like a trusty
back pack full of necessary tools. Now I know several of the
triggers for binge eating and have been nearly binge-free
for over 4 months leading to less pain in my stomach, fewer
pounds on my body, and less fear.
I’m just plain happier, able to get out of a negative
funk if I get into one, feel what I feel without distracting
myself with negative behaviors – be more fearless. I
attribute this progress specifically to Mynde and Fearless
Living – without her, I would not have had the dialog
and work to learn to keep myself really healthy and happy.
